Here’s how you get out of a funk… or at least how I did today…
I spent time in classes.
I saw Geometry classes celebrating Pi Day.
I saw students in Biochemistry doing cellular examinations of bacteria under digital microscopes.
I saw a History class examine the question of whether or not exhibits like King Tut are ethical.
And I saw English classes taking apart texts.
And then I spent time in a faculty meeting with an incredible group of committed, caring educators who are willing to continue to experiment and continue to create and continue to care.
Whenever the politics of education get me down, I remember what’s important, and I reinvest my energy back into the students and teachers of SLA, and the day gets a lot better.
