So, I’ve spent some time reading through what folks had to say today in the reflective blogging project, and I’m pretty pleased with the level of thought people put into it. I’m a little frustrated because I’m finding elgg to be a bit more clunky than I’d like it to be. For example, I wish there was a way (is there a way?) to just post a link to all posts made on January 26, 2007 so that I could in one fell swoop link to every post from today, but I’m not finding an easy way to do that. So instead, I’ll just post a few examples of the results. What I encourage folks to do is use students’ friends list to start jumping around from student to student and keep reading. And remember, this was a 30-40 minute writing assignment. I think if I had it to do over again (and we will in the spring), I’d give the kids the questions before, and then just maximize the writing time.
In a perfect world, I’d encourage everyone to comment too, but the spam monster reared its ugly head and the anti-spam plug-in isn’t working yet, so comments on SLA Elgg are currently closed. But look around… and hey, if there are some comments you’d like to leave for kids, leave them here, and I’ll pass them along.
