Just a quick update… I’d post more pictures, but I left my digital camera sitting on his NICU crib.
Theo had a good day. His chest tube is now just suctioned on, not sutured in (or something like that. To be honest, I didn’t quite understand the difference only that it was better for him.) He’s developed a mild case of jaundice, so he’s under the billy-lights, which means that he now has to wear eye-shields. Fortunately, he’s not opening his eyes all that much anyway.
When he’s at the end of his morphine cycle, he is very interested in gripping my finger. And he’s got quite a grip. He definitely responds to voices near him, even through the morphine. And he continues to be a very cute little boy.
With any luck, he’ll be transfered to CHOP in the next day or two, which will make us very happy, because it will make it much easier to see him during the week for me, and it will make it possible for Kat to see him without having to spend an hour in a car every day, which just isn’t good for her back.
And I promise I’ll post the pictures as soon as I get the camera back.
