"Dad

Theodore Kenton Lehmann came into the world at 5:29 am this morning, August 2nd. He decided that mom didn’t need a long labor. Kat went into labor at 3:00 am in the morning — somewhat unexpectedly, since she was only 35 weeks along — and we packed up, got someone over to watch Jakob, and left for the hospital. By the time we left, Kat’s contractions were coming somewhat quickly, and I’m not ashamed to admit that red lights didn’t really mean much on the ride to the hospital. We got there, got Kat whisked upstairs, and less than 45 minutes later, Theo came into the world.

He is a preemie, with some of the preemie problems. So he’s in the NICU for a few days, but he’s doing great there. We hope to have him home on Sunday or Monday. I was able to hold him for a few moments after he was born… and I can’t wait to hold him again. He’s a cute little bugger, with a thick head of curly brown hair.

Oh… and six toes on each foot. Hey, he’s my kid, there has to be something unique about him. ":-)"
