So, I haven’t been a good blogger lately. Part of it has been just generally being tired, and not feeling like I’ve had a ton to say. I never wanted this to be a purely vanity blog — I wanted to write about education, but I’ve managed to avoid that a lot. The election certainly kept me busy all fall, and like a lot of other folks I’ve spoken to, I’ve felt a need to step away for a while just to recover from the burnout.

And yes, I could just post new Jakob stories every day, but again, this wasn’t supposed to be a vanity blog.

Some of the problem is that my view from the classroom has changed. I’m doing much more administrative work, and more of the administrative assistant work, and I’m pretty sure that no one out there wants to read scintillating posts about ways to manage human resources and data management more efficiently. Nor am I sure that I’m being more efficient anyway. The guidance work I’m doing more of is, obviously, hard to write about in anything but the most soaring of generalities. So, I think I’ve got to figure out where I want to take this blog so that it’s still interesting to me and to the three or four other folks out there who actually read this.

Mostly, though, I’ve been in my own head a lot, and I’m not sure how much of any of that is blog-worthy. I think I’ve got some education-posts roaming around in my head, and I hope to use some of next week to re-energize my blogging.

Thanks for sticking with me.
