So… Day Three of Jakob’s life, and we just got down from the roof after a brief sunbathing excursion. (Before anyone thinks, "WHAT IS HE DOING?!?!?!" Jakob is a bit jaundiced — totally not a huge deal — but it needs to go away and one of the ways to do so is to get him in the sun a fair amount. So we’ll be working on tanning Jakob in 20 minute spurts over the next few days.)

By the way… if anyone wondered how long it was going to take until I started with the sports, here’s a picture for you:

Got to say, it’s been pretty amazing. He’s a joy. We brought him home from the hospital yesterday, and it’s really just great getting him into our space. It feels more real to have him home, and honestly, it just feels right.

Finally, for the three or four people out there who might read this blog for some kind of political content, I did ask Jakob what he thought about the geopolitical state of the world he’s being brought into, and he did let me know exactly what he felt:

(I swear… writing about stuff other than fatherhood soon… I promise.)
