The woman who took the picture of the coffins of US soldiers being shipped home has been fired by her contracting firm. Not only that, but they fired her husband too.

It does seem that the US has had the no-pictures policy since 1991, but this still doesn’t sit well with me. I’m not sure how the government can even have that policy. There’s no security risk; it just affects public opinion. The government should not be in the business of banning images that might affect approval ratings. That is an abuse of government power, and there’s really no other way to spin that.
