Philly Blogger Girlfiend tagged me for the
8 Things meme. So hey, why not...
Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
1) I currently have gotten really sick of all non-sports TV except Heroes and Daily Show. I still watch 24, and I still Tivo Daily Show, Colbert Report, Sopranos and Entourage, but I'm way behind with all of them. Keeping sports on as background noise as I read or write still is fun.
2) Kat and I were totally serious about sleep training Jakob. He never went to sleep at night in our bed, and we were both big fans of Ferber. With everything Theo went through, we got very used to having him sleep in our bed, and we've created a total cuddle-monster. I'd say it's a problem, but it's not.
3) I've had the greatest Bull Durham-esque minor-league Ultimate frisbee career. I've played in College Nationals, Co-Ed Nationals and Coached at High School Nationals. Never made Open (Men's) Nationals, though. And I'd like to think I could make a run at the Masters Division, but realistically, I don't see the time in my life opening up to be able to get in the kind of shape necessary to play at that level any more.
4) I love to grill. I mean, seriously, seriously love to grill. I'd make and eat grilled stuff all spring, summer and fall long, and then I'd miss it all winter.
5) I eat like a toddler. I'm trying to learn how to eat more vegetables and less carbs. I managed to avoid really having to learn to eat like an adult for years because I trained for Ultimate which kept me in shape and reasonably thin. Time to change.
6) I'm a homebody. I wish I wanted to travel more, but my idea of vacations are seeing people, not places, so even when we travel, we end up taking trips to places to visit friends. Feel sorry for Kat, who would love to go to more exotic places than me.
7) I would love to spend an hour talking to Pete Seeger and just listening him tell talk about the life he's led.

I try to take what I do really seriously, while remembering not to ever take myself seriously. This surprises people sometimes, but it means I get to laugh a lot.
I'm going to break the rules and not tag anyone, mostly because my RSS client is on my currently-in-the-shop laptop, so I don't have everyone's address. So Marcie, Christian, Carolyn, Dan, Kim or anyone else who comments with some regularity, consider yourselves tagged if you want to answer.
