I have coached for 12 years... high school and middle school. This year I took the year off for reasons that I wasn't exactly sure of, but made the decision nonetheless. The break has been good, but I miss it as well. There isn't really anything that replaces that feeling of being able to use words to guide a team of people towards a singular goal. Playing is one thing, but sitting on the bench is quite another ... and I also have missed the role that it played in my life. Next year... back to the hardwood!
I agree. This is a great show and the ending was phenomenal. It is a great balance to show that we are all different with different goals, and that sometimes you have to compromise. I hope the show is back next season.
This is why, despite other's urging, I maintain my work as a Science Olympiad coach and yearbook advisor. Yes, it does eat time, add stress, and sometimes complicate life. Being able to work together, struggle, and come together towards an end is exhilarating.
