Really Chris, this administration and the USDOE are so disconnected from the real world of education... it just makes me hurt inside.

They're not disconnected or oblivious. They are consciously trying to destroy public education, bust unions and replace teachers like you with YouTube videos.

The goal is to reduce the cost of education to zero while handing public treasure over to private hands.

For the Democrats, this is magical thinking.

For the Republicans, it's a plan.

"Duly noted." Well put.

I'm not sure which is scarier, the utter cluelessness it would take to do this without understanding the implications or the utter callousness it would take to do it while understanding the implications.

How do you get this posted on facebook? We need to get this out and my Facebook skills are not up to date. It is very hurtful that Mr. President completely disreguarded teachers. It's frustrating that around every corner somebody is bashing teachers. The "big wigs", that have never stepped foot in a classroom, are doing a great job of burning out the finest teachers in America. Our profession is the most disrespected profession out there. We are treated very unkindly, especially by the media. Can you imagine how much $ we would have if we were in a profession that paid us for our time, hard work and dedication?

Being a liberal, progressive, democrat or whatever, I support most of the President's initiatives. However, as your post clearly points out, his timing stinks as does his divisive message.

Great Post
